Impressed with Mayawati8217;s social engineering that bridged a wide social spectrum from Dalits to Brahmins in the recent Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the All-India Brahmin Federation AIBF has decided to support her and also embark on a special mission to improve Brahmin-Dalit harmony.

Founded by BSR Anjanelu at Visakhapatnam in 1984, the AIBF will pass a resolution tomorrow to pledge support to Mayawati and appealed to the Brahmin community to support her in all elections across the country at the end of a three-day conference at Tirupati on Sunday.

The AIBF has also decided to embark on a special mission to improve social harmony and reduce caste hostilities. It has decided to form five teams of 25 learned Brahmins each to visit five zones across the country8212; east, west, central, north and south8212;to interact with Dalits and Brahmins. The teams would organise joint meetings of Brahmins and Dalits across the country and intervene, wherever necessary, to ensure that Dalits are not denied entry to temples.
