Book on human growth released

PATIALA, MARCH 11: A book titled 8220;Human Growth 8212; a Multi-Disciplinary Approach8221; was released by Joginder Singh Puar, Vice-Chancellor, Punjabi University, Patiala, at a function held to felicitate L. S. Sidhu, a renowned scientist and academician on the occasion of his 60th birth anniversary, at the university guest house, here today.

The book has been edited by D. P. Bhatnagar, S. K. Verma and R. Mokha.While delivering his address, Puar appreciated the efforts of the editors in bringing out the book to felicitate their teacher. The book contains research papers from eminent scientists of the country working in the field of human growth.

Puar said that Sidhu, who is a dedicated teacher, has the credit of successfully conducting B.Ed entrance test twice besides the PMT entrance test and MA and M.Sc tests. He is a widely travelled person and has delivered lectures at various Indian and foreign universities.

Sidhu, who is retiring this month, has served in various capacities at the university. He has directed one UGC and one ICMR research project and has published 172 research papers.

Ram Murti Goel, pro-vice-chancellor of the university, presented an album containing highlights of Sidhu8217;s academic period.
