
NAGPUR, APRIL 7: A 39-year-old 8216;doctor8217; was booked by the Tehsil police for operating a dispensary near Bangal gymnasium here on the basis of a dubious Ayurved degree certificate.
Police said Ashok Khemchand Moryani got himself registered as a doctor with the Maharashtra Council of Medicine by furnishing a forged BAMS degree certificate of the Varanasi-based Sampoornanand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya.
In August last year, he set up a dispensary in front of Bangal gymnasium near the first railway crossing at Pachpaoli and started practicing medicine despite the fact that he had no requisite qualification.
Moryani now faces charges of cheating, forgery, using forged documents as genuine ones and violating the Maharashtra Medical Practitioners Act. Further probe was on. No arrest was reported.
