Bofors: Cong warns BJP leaders

To counter the BJP attack, the Congress on Thursday threatened to make public the allegations made against BJP leaders in various commissions.

Charging the BJP for ‘‘stooping low’’ by mounting its attack against the Congress over the Bofors issue, party leader Kapil Sibal said: ‘‘If this continues, we will also make public the allegations levelled against BJP leaders in commission hearings.’’

Targeting BJP spokesperson Arun Jaitley, the Congress leader said: ‘‘Why does he want to have a debate outside when the court has given a clean chit to late prime minister Rajiv Gandhi in the Bofors case.’’

‘‘We are prepared for a debate with the ruling party on all issues, economic, political, foreign and Indo-Pakistan ties,’’ he said adding the elections should be fought on issues.
