Chennai, April 12: On an exciting Sunday, at the Gold Flake Open '99, Zimbabwe's Byron Black got rid of his bridesmaid tag to claim his second career singles title. Rainer Schuttler delighted the audience with his range of shots. And finally, Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi did not let the Chennai crowd down to make it three-in-a-row here.``I'm very happy. Last year, I lost three finals. Very gratifying to win the tournament. Hope to come back next year,'' said Black after his victory.``Got off to a nervous start. We were a bit tentative. Never found our rhythm. It was up and down. I got a bit lazy because of humidity,'' reflected the Zimbabwean.``I let him into the match. I missed the returns (1st and 2nd game second set). He was running away with the match. I was feeling lackadaisical. Holding the first game (third set 0-30 down) was the turning point. Immediately I broke him,'' said an articulate Black.Black, who loves competing on the grasscourts, is looking forward to the grasscourt season which ends with Wimbledon. ``Last year, I won the most grasscourt matches. We beat Australia on grass. Couple of times I have lost to Pete Sampras at Wimbledon. If I get a good draw. I can do well there,'' said the optimistic Black. He will play the Queen's and Nottingham tournaments which are a prelude to Wimbledon.``It was good practice playing with high quality players like Mark Philippoussis and Patrick Rafter before coming here,'' said Black.DUO DOES IT: ``I think it's one of the toughest victories. Tested as a team, we came out with flying colours,'' said Paes.``The turning point of the match came when I held my serve under pressure in the second set for 6-5,'' said Paes.Mercedes Benz has offered Paes and Bhupathi a free ride for four weeks in a chauffeur driven car (new E Model) in appreciation for their third consecutive victory.
