According to sources, they have conveyed their request to Ahmed Patel, Political Secretary to Sonia Gandhi.
Congress sources said that while most of the BJP rebels were likely to be accommodated by the party, the leadership remained unsure about Gordhan Zadafia, who held Minister of State for Home portfolio in the Narendra Modi Government during the 2002 riots.
