BSE plans derivatives
MUMBAI: The BSE is preparing a blue print on the introduction of derivatives trading in the country. A day after the L C Gupta committee submitted its final report along with BSE president M G Damani8217;s dissent note, Damani said that if his dissent note is considered and the demands for stringent norms are incorporated, the BSE would introduce derivatives trading.
8220;Though Sebi will initiate the bye-laws and norms for derivatives trading at the exchange level, we at the exchange can always increase the safety net,8221; explained Damani. He, however, continued to stress the demand for derivatives has not come from local players but from representatives of foreign players.
