
Gold, silver prices down
MUMBAI: The precious metals, silver and gold, declined sharply on the bullion market on Saturday in line with subdued trend in the international markets. The local demand was also poor, dealers said. Ready silver .999 fineness and tenderable silver fell by Rs 60 each to close at Rs 7895 and Rs 7900 from Rs 7955 and Rs 7960 respectively. Raw silver .916 fineness declined by Rs 45 to Rs 7770 from Rs 7815. Standard gold dropped sharply by Rs 20 and finished at Rs 4380 as against the last close of Rs 4400. Also 22-carat gold was quoted weak at Rs 4050 from the previous level of Rs 4070 and ten-tola gold bar .999 purity lost Rs 100 at Rs 51,600 from Rs 51,700.

Forex reserves
MUMBAI: The foreign exchange reserves of the country rose to 30.844 billion on March 5 from 30.756 billion in the previous week, the Reserve Bank of India RBI said in its weekly statistical supplement on Saturday. The Government reduced its dependence on ways and means advances by Rs 570 crore to Rs 4,030 crore during the week-ended February 26.
Wipro8217;s new tie-up
Bangalore- Wipro Infotech8217;s enterprise resources planning ERP division has tied up with Siebel Systems Inc, USA, to offer enterprise relationship management ERM systems. Wipro would offer ERM services in sales, marketing and customer sector in India and abroad.
