
Lamp;T net profit dips 19 pc
MUMBAI: Larsen amp; Toubro Lamp;T reported a 19.08 per cent fall in profits to Rs 166.86 crore in the first half of the current fiscal as against the corresponding period last year. The company has, however, recorded a marginal increase in net sales from Rs 3,092.95 crore to Rs 3,317.68 crore in the six months ended September 30, 1999.
The first-half results were impacted by the slowdown in the economy, especially in the infrastructure sector which was not up to expectations, Lamp;T CEO A M Naik said here today. The operating profits in the current fiscal was higher by 42.45 per cent at Rs 489.53 crore.
Mamp;M Q2 net up 26 pc to Rs 60.37 cr
MUMBAI: Mahindra amp; Mahindra Mamp;M has posted over 26 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 60.37 crore during the second quarter ended September on net sales of Rs 830.74 crore, up 3.16 per cent over the same period last year. The company reported gross sales of Rs 1,015.11 crore, up 4.88 per cent over the same period previous year. Thecompany posted a 34 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 111.64 crore for the half year ended September taking the earnings per share to Rs 20.57 from Rs 16.03. Net sales went up by 5.56 per cent to Rs 1703.41 crore during the first-half.
BoB improves performance in first half
MUMBAI: Bank of Baroda posted a satisfactory performance during the first half of 1999-2000 with its net profit improving from Rs 228.20 crore during April-September 1998 to Rs 240.15 crore during the current half year showing a rise of 5.2 per cent. The operating profit at Rs 465.15 crore was only marginally lower than the profit of Rs 490 crore recorded in the corresponding half year of 1998-99, a bank press release said here today.
