Bhagalpur: NHRC team begins probe

A two-member team of the National Human Rights Commission NHRC on Monday began its inquiry into the assault on a chain-snatcher by two policemen. The NHRC team which arrived here on Sunday, held an in-camera discussion with Government officials and recorded written statements of DSP Town Anjani Kumar and officer-in-charge of Nathnagar police station Mohammad Javed.

The team also held discussions with Additional District Magistrate Divesh Sehra and went through the video clippings and newspaper reports of the incident, official sources said. The team will visit Central Jail and meet alleged chain snatcher Aurangzeb.
