
KHARAR, June 7: The Punjab Health Department has chalked out a comprehensive plan to provide better health services at all the civil hospitals in Roopnagar district. The 24-hour uninterrupted emergency services and regular attendence of doctors and staff will be made mandatory.
This was disclosed by Dr Rajinder Singh, Roopnagar Civil Surgeon, while talking to ENS after assuming charge here today. He said these services would be started on the priority basis at those civil hospitals which had been undertaken by the Punjab Health Systems Corporation.
He added that seven civil hospitals of the district including Kharar, Mohali, Kurali, Ropar, Anandpur Sahib, Nurpur Bedi and Chamkaur Sahib have been undertaken by the PHSC where special 8216;referral system8217; is being introduced to ensure more attention on those patients who had been referred by other hospitals or dispensaries.
Dr Rajinder Singh added that vacant posts of the doctors at the Civil Hospitals would be filled shortly. Special ambulance service will also be made available at all these health centres, he added.
He said the Punjab Health Department has selected Roopnagar and Bathinda districts for the implementation of 8216;Pilot8217; scheme and the Roopnagar district has been declared as the 8216;Pilot8217; district of the state. The wastage disposal has been planned under this scheme and district wastage disposal committees would be formed to spread awareness about the scheme.
He informed that computerised ECC machines are being installed at the civil hospitals of Kharar, Mohali, Ropar and Anandpur Sahib. He added that the work to repair the buildings of civil hospitals, renovation and facelift of wards as well as to reconstruct the inner roads in the health centres was in progress.
Dr Singh added that special multi-purpose health camps would be organised at the block level in the district every month under a special campaign where the expert doctors would examine and treat the needy patients free of cost.
