
India wasted an early lead to go down 1-2 against lowly Belgium in the second and final freindly hockey match here. India, who were lacklustre in their 3-1 win against the hosts in the first friendly on Tuesday, took the lead as early in the third minute through Deepak Thakur.
Belgium, who played an aggressive game, rallied back to score two goals through penalty corners to win the match played late last night. After playing the first match with the regular eleven, India made a few changes to the side for the second game, bringing in rookies Vivek Gupta, Harpal Singh, Adam Sinclair and Jitendarpal Singh.
The Indian team left for Germany today to take part in the four-nation tournament at Dusseldorf tomorrow.
