
The three-day talks between India and Pakistan to discuss the construction of a 450 MW power project on the Chenab in Baglihar, J-K, ended on Sunday without a consensus.
An Indian delegation, headed by D.K. Mehta, chief of the Indian chapter of Indus Water Commission, held talks with Pakistan to discuss the latter8217;s objections to the construction of a hydro-electric project at Baglihar. It had alleged the project was being constructed in violation of the Indus Water Treaty, which gave it exclusive rights to Chenab8217;s waters and the gateways would withhold the flow of water to Pakistan. 8212;PTI
