CALCUTTA, Feb 3: Reigning champions Mohun Bagan finally struck form, with a 3-1 victory over Group A leaders Tollygunge Agragami here today. This was Bagan’s second win in the league so far, while Tollygunge suffered their first defeat in seven games. Chima Okerie too must be feeling good today as he finally got his name on the scorer’s list.

The other scorers were stop-gap striker Jo Paul Ancheri and RP Singh. Chibuzor reduced the margin for Tollygunge through a spot-kick.

LUDHIANA: A spirited Jagatjit Cotton Textiles, Phagwara eked out a narrow 1-0 win over Churchill Brothers, Goa, in a keenly contested match at the Guru Nanak Stadium here today. With this win, JCT now top the group A with 12 points from three wins and three draws.

The solitary goal was scored by Hardip Gill in the 18th minute.

IB stunned

CHENNAI: Indian Bank’s chances of qualifying for the Super League suffered a severe jolt when they went down 0-3 to FC Kochin in their last home match here thisevening.

Striker Nitin Pradhan put F C Kochi in the lead in the 24th minute, while former Indian Bank player Karunakar Raj (85th) and Najeeb (90th) widened the tally.
