PUNE, June 2: With the hike in petrol price, Pune City Auto Rickshaw Federation has demanded an increase in meter fare rates for three-seater autorickshaws. On the other hand Rickshaw Panchayat has demanded that henceforth petrol should supplied on rationing basis to auto operators.In a letter addressed to chairman of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), federation president Vasant Pashte stated that following budgetary announcement of petrol hike, the tariff rate for the initial one kilometre should be raised to Rs 6.50 from the existing Rs.5.50. Besides, for every another kilometre, the rate should be hiked from Rs 3.30 to Rs 4.30, demanded the federation. It has also demanded that the waiting charges should be doubled from Rs 10 to Rs 20. The luggage charges, said the federation should be increased to two rupees from Rs 1.50. Top
