An Australian Education Fair was organised at Hotel Mountview on Friday. More than 500 visitors attended the fair, where different Australian universities and colleges including Victoria, Central Queensland University, Holmes and Carrick among others had come to attract Indian students.
8220;Students from the region form a major part of those going to Australia for higher education. Good career
opportunities along witha comfortable lifestyle make it a lucrative option,8221; said Gulshan Kumar of Kangaroo Studies.
Speaking on the occasion, Kumar said that the best courses are those which offer skill-based degrees. 8220;The country requires a lot of skilled workers. This is the reason why courses like community welfare, hotel management and horticulture are so much in demand. Apart from this, courses in graphic arts, MBA and web designing are also coming up,8221; Kumar said.
Talking about job security, he said, 8220;It is a myth that Australia has achieved its saturation point and that there is no room for outsiders. Those who pass out after completing their courses do not remain unemployed. It may take sometime to absorb them
but they do get good jobs,8221; he clarified.
8220;People from all the over the world have come and settled in Australia. This is because it has something in store for everyone, from academics to jobs. Apart from this, studying in Australia is not a very expensive affair. Students get quality education at a very nominal cost in comparison to universities like Harvard and Oxford,8221; he concluded.
