NEW DELHI, July 21: Strong contenders Army Public School Dhaula Kuan entered the quarter-final of the Brother Mahony Inter-School Football tournament defeating Modern School Barakhamba Road 2-1.
In the opening match played at the Mount St Mary8217;s School ground, Sunil Chetri opened the account for the winners while T Mobikant consolidated the lead further. Aniruben Basu reduced the margin for Modern School in the 18th minute.
In another match, Delhi Public School RK Puram also stormed into the quarter-finals after beating host Mt St Mary8217;s 3-0. DPS, true to their strength, dominated the proceedings right from the beginning, without giving an inch to their rivals. Mt St Mary8217;s boys did put up a brave display but scoring eluded them. Abhishek Mishra, Abhinandan and Vidit Taneja scored a goal each for the winners.
