GHAZIABAD, July 9: Police here today claimed to have killed an alleged gangster this afternoon after a shootout in Dhaulana area of the district. Interestingly, the police informed some of the local reporters at 3.30 pm that they could get the details of an encounter by 7.30 pm. Later the police declared that Station House Officer SHO of Dhaulana police station Puranchand Mehra had an encounter with some gangsters in village Chhajjupur of Dhaulana at 4 pm. A 24-year-old man was killed in the cross fire and two others managed to escape.

Police have recovered a country made pistol and and two live cartridges from the deceased person. According to sources, the deceased person has been identified but his name was not revealed as his criminal record is yet to reach the Ghaziabad police headquarter from different districts.
