All that glitters…

Had Midas been at The Taj Mahal on Tuesday night, he would have been proud.The classy function held at The Ball Room was organised by the World GoldCouncil to felicitate the winners and runners-ups at the recently held GoldVirtuosi Awards in Vicenza, Italy.

The chief guests (Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla) and others watched withintent as Nina Manuel, Raj Laksmi, Noyonika Chatterjee and Aditi Govitrikarshowcased the best of Indian talent at jewellery designing in an alluringfashion show choreographed by Lubna Adams. Some of the winners present thatevening included Sangeeta Diwan, Gitika Singh, Vrinda Chibber, Raja Roy andSaayli Sanket who were honoured along with the runners-ups thereafter.The Gold Virtuosi Awards are equivalent to the "Oscars" for the goldjewellery industry, and were announced earlier this year on June 11 at theworld’s largest jewellery fair in Italy. All in all, it was an elegantaffair with the sponsors eschewing long, impaling speeches, and to top ita well choreographed fashion show.
