AI terminates Ahmedabad-London flight

As the airlines industry grapples with the turmoil in the aviation sector, Air India has announced the termination of its Ahmedabad-London direct flight AI 113 from Thursday.

Air India Deputy General Manager Prasad Rao told Newsline on Friday that the flight is being withdrawn for operational reasons. 8220;With a flight which can accommodate about 225 people, we need to have it full or at least filled to the optimum level for its feasibility,8221; Rao said, adding that while there are a few frequent fliers from Ahmedabad to London, the flight was not meeting its optimum load level.

8220;For the fliers from Ahmedabad, we have a number of connecting flights from Mumbai,8221; Rao said. He, however, hinted at the possibility of the flight being restarted once it is feasible.
