Sekhri appointed
Mahesh Sekhri, general secretary, Chandigarh Carrom Association, has been appointed manager of the Indian carrom team which will participate in the first Malaysian Open International carrom championship to be held at Kuala Lumpur from November 26.

GMS-21 win
Government Model School-21 and IS Dev Samaj School-21 entered the final of under-19 group in the Chandigarh State Inter-School ball badminton tournament at Shivalik Public School in Sector 41, today.

GMSS-21 beat GMSS-16, 29-11, 29-12 while DS-21 defeated GGSS-23, 29-9, 29-9.GHS, Sarangpur got the better of GMHS-36, 29-9, 29-1 to move into the semifinals of under-17 section.

Harneet shines
Unbeaten knock by Harneet Arora (33) enabled St John’s High School-26 beat St Stephen’s School-45 by 10 wickets to enter the final of under-14 group in the Chandigarh State Inter-School cricket tournament at St John’s School-26, today.

In the second semifinal, Shivalik Public School-41 defeated GMHS-38 by 15 runs.

GCG-11, MCM in final
Government College for Girls, Sector 11 and MCM DAV College-36 set up title clash in the Panjab University Inter-College women’s cricket tournament.

In the semifinal today played at the PU Campus, MCM DAV girls edged out PU Campus by one run.

Earlier, in the other semifinal GCG-11defeated Khalsa College for Women, Ludhiana by five wickets. The final will be played tomorrow at 9 a.m., at PU Campus.
