AG Himachal claim trophy

CHANDIGARH, Oct 29: In an exciting encounter Accountant General Himachal Pradesh beat AG Uttar Pradesh 15-11, 15-5, 5-15, 15-13, to win the title in the All India Audit and Accounts North Zone volleyball tournament which concluded at the Sector 7 Sports Complex here today.

After initial hiccups, HP got their act together and ripped apart the rival defence. Though UP8217;s spikers raced to a 8-3 lead in the first set but were unable to keep up the tempo and lost the grip over the contest.

On the other hand HP8217;s players took time to settle down and with drop shots and smashes caught up with the opponents 8-11 and then levelled the score 11-11 to win the set 15-11. UP8217;s defence fell without resistance in the second set 5-15. It was reverse in the third set, HP8217;s spikers lost their rhythm and the set 5-15.
