GANDHINAGAR, FEB 4: Union Home Minister L K Advani today stressed the need to solve all problems through consensus in every walk of life and said problems of the weaker sections of the society should be kept uppermost in mind in doing so.

Dedicating to the people of his Lok Sabha constituency here the first of nine bhavans being constructed by the Gujarat Government in memory of Dr B R Ambedkar, he said the constituent Assembly had evolved consensus on all issues it faced and gave paramount importance to the development of the country and welfare of the weaker.

Citing the recent example of roll-back of prices through consensus by his government, he said other issues should be settled similarly without hurting the weaker sections.

Earlier, Gujarat Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel said nine districts in the state will have their Ambedkar Bhavans ready within two years. Construction of these bhavans was being taken up shortly. Social Welfare Minister Fakirbhai Vaghela and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Bangaru Laxman also spoke on the occasion.

The State government had decided to construct Ambedkar Bhavans in all the districts of Gujarat in 1990-91, the birth centenary year of Dr Ambedkar, as a meeting place for the scheduled castes and to work as a centre for social justice and to spread the message of the leader. The Gujarat government had allotted three thousand square metres of land. The Bhavan had a library of books by and on Dr Ambedkar and different aspects of social justice. A permanent museum portraying the life and works of Ambedkar and a 300-seat auditorium will also form part of the Bhavan.
