December 7: St Mary8217;s student Adrian Mascarenhas took the first place in the 100 m hurdles. He created a new meet record clocking 15.0 seconds finishing ahead of Mahesh Kokhare and Pravin Shetty in the Boys under-18 category at XXII open state level annual athletics meet at the University Pavilion today.

In the 4 X 100m relay race, the team from Project 2000 won the gold medal with a timing of 48.2 seconds to push back the Narsee Morjee who came up with a timings of 48.4 sec.

Abhat Palshetkar prevailed in the 400m dash. Abhat clocked 53.1 seconds. Mervyn R of Road Runner came in second with Sachin More of Raj Track finishing third. Zaheer Shreef of St Joseph, Juhu won the 100m dash gold medal in 11.07 seconds.
