PATIALA, JUNE 22: The district administration has geared itself up to tackle the prospective threat of floods during the rainy season.

Sub Divisional Magistrate Manjit Singh Narang told The Indian Express after presiding over a meeting of high officials here that the administration had already identified the sensitive points in the different rivers and drains in the area and added the administration would provide wireless sets to officials deployed in these areas and control rooms would be set up for this purpose.

He said the sub-division has been divided into four sectors and already the administration had arranged four boats. The Sub-Divisional Magistrate said the Health department has also set up seventeen medical teams for the urban area and fifteen medical teams for rural areas to tackle the problems of prospective floods.

The Sub-Divisional Magistrate aid the Animal Husbandry department has made all arrangements for proper vaccination of livestock and the Food and Supply department has also taken precautionary measures to meet any situation during the monsoon.
