The university campus has been witnessing sporadic incidents of violence since the past one week even as Rapid Action Force personnel patrolled the campus following arrest of six of the students who stormed the proctor8217;s office and tried to lay siege to a police station here last Saturday.

The violence follows a boycott call of the first term examinations given by a section of students.

IG Police Kanpur range, U K Bansal, has reached the university campus to take stock of the situation, police said .
