ABVP celebrates 50 years

MUMBAI, June 30: Indis8217; oldest student organisation, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad ABVP, is all set to observe its 50th anniversary this year. At a press conference held in Mumbai on Tuesday, the newly elected president of the ABVP golden jubilee celebrations committee, Prof D M Mirasdar, informed that their inaugural programme will be held at Birla Matoshree in Churchgate on July 9. The chief guest for the programme will be Defence Minister George Fernandes.

Computer scientist Dr Vijay Bhatkar and RSS member Madan Das will also speak on the occasion. An exhibition depicting various milestones in the 50 years of ABVP will also be arranged.
