PUNE, April 19: Abhinav A8217; lads lifted the boys under-13 basketball title humbling Deccan Gymkhana 48-21 in the final of the Poona District Basketball Association conducted basketball tournament-cum-selection trials in progress at the Deccan Gymkhana courts today.

In a surprise result, the enterprising batch of youngsters held the upper hand from the start and stayed in control till the very end. The winners were ably supported by Akshay Jathar who top scored 11 points followed by Sujeet Adhye 8 points and Abhisek Garge 7 points. For the losers Arjun Mehta and Sahil Jadeja made some consistent efforts scoring six and four points respectively.

Later the prizes were given away by the hands of Prof SN Karandikar, founder member of the Poona District Basketball Association. The girl8217;s trophy was given away to St Mary8217;s by Viswas Joshi, founder member PDBA.
