Serial blasts rock Ahmedabad.

August 16:Ten people, including alleged mastermind Mufti Abu Bashr arrested. While five of them, Yunus Mansuri, Samsuddin Shaikh, Arif Qadri, Zahid Sheikh and Gyasuddin are from Ahmedabad, three, Imran Shaikh, Usman Agarbattiwala and Iqbal Shaikh are from Vadodara. The tenth accused, Sajid Mansuri is from Bharuch.
August 17:The accused are produced before a metropolitan court, which sends them to 14 days in police custody.
August 18:Three people, Yusuf Mohammed Patel, Maqbool Mohammed Patel and Sayid Mohammed Patel are arrested by Bharuch police. The trio is accused of renting a row house in Bharuch to one of the blast accused, Sajid Mansuri.
August 19:The Ahmedabad City Detection of Crime Branch DCB says that SIMI chief Safdar Nagori along with some other SIMI operatives lodged in a Madhya Pradesh jail, are involved in the planning of the Ahmedabad serial blasts.
August 22: Gujarat Police gets permission to interrogate Nagori and other SIMI activists in MP jail.
August 23:The DCB gets custody of five SIMI top brass including Safadar Nagori, Kamuruddin Nagori, Ameel Pervez, Asif Hussain and Abdul Sibli till September 3.
September 2:The DCB recovers 8216;incriminating8217; documents from a well in the Sidi Saiyed Mosque compound near the Lal Darwaza, believed to have been used by the accused in the blasts.
September 4:The DCB arrests four more people, Naved Kadri, Ayas Saiyed, Javed Sheikh and Abbas Sameja in connection with the case.
September 15: The DCB arrests two more persons from Ahmedabad, Umar Kala Kabira alias Ashok and Salim Jamal Sipahao alias Umar.
September 18:Abu Bashr taken to Delhi.
September 20:The DCB recovers bomb-making material during raids at a bungalow on the outskirts of the city.
October 24:The police arrest an embroidery worker, Abdul Razik Mansuri, from Nagda in MP.
October 27:Gujarat Police takes custody of five suspected terrorists, who are arrested by the Delhi Police in connection with the September 13 serial blasts in the National Capital. The alleged Indian Mujahideen members, Mohammed Saif, Zia-Ur-Rehman, Mohammed Shakeel, Shaquib Nisar and Zeeshan Ahmed are brought to Ahmedabad.

November 5:The police produce seven accused arrested by the Mumbai police 8212; Afzal alias Afsar Usmani, Mohammed Sadiq Israr Ahmed Shaikh, Mohammed Jakir Abdul Haque Shaikh, Mohammed Arif alias Ladan Badruddin Shaikh, Asif Basiruddin Shaikh, Mubin alias Salman alias Sallu Qadar Shaikh and Mohammed Mansur Asgar Peerbhoy 8211; before a local court here.
November 10:A Gujarat Police team leaves for MP to interrogate the alleged key conspirator of the July 26 serial blasts, Qayamuddin Kapadia, who was arrested by the MP Police.
November 12:The DCB files its first chargesheet in the Civil Hospital and L G Hospital blasts case.
November 23:The police produce before a local court in Ahmedabad, the 43rd person arrested in connection with the July 26 serial blasts. Arif Nasim Ahmed 22 was arrested in Uttar Pardesh by the UP ATS and brought to the city on a transfer warrant.
November 30:DCB likely to file its first supplementary chargesheet in the case.

A low intensity bomb placed on a motorcycle parked near a mosque in the Sukha Bazaar area in Modasa goes off, killing a 15-year-old Muslim boy and injuring several others.
October 3:Senior police officers investigating the blast say the investigation is 8216;very much open8217; in the absence of any crucial leads in the case.
October 5:The police get inputs from local residents. Locals and Congress leaders accuse the police of harassing Muslims.
October 9:Senior police officers say more than 60 of the 150-odd people under their scanner are Hindus.
October 25:Forensic experts confirm that gunpower is the explosive used in the Modasa blast.
October 27:Modasa police say ABVP is under the scanner.
October 31:A Gujarat Police team visits Mumbai in connection with the Modasa blast probe.
November 2:Gujarat Police gives Sadhvi Pragya and others a green chit in the Modasa blast case. Tells Newsline that interrogating her was a tough task.
November 5:Gujarat Director General of Police P C Pande declares that his force has not given a clean chit to Sadhvi Pragya.
November 8:Fear-struck residents of Modasa nab a 8216;suspicious8217; man seen loitering around the blast site. The man is allowed to leave a few hours later.
