Some had come from Kashmir, unsuspecting targets of mine blasts. Others 8211; causalities of accidents 8211; from different parts of the country with a dead lump in place of a healthy limb.

Apart from being physically challenged, they had another factor in common. All belonged to the reserved categories. For the camp, organised by the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation under its composite plan for the reserved category, was exclusively for them. According to the organisers, artificial limbs and hearing aids worth Rs 2 lakh were provided during the camp.
