The controversy over Achuthanandan8217;s remarks against the family of slain NSG Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, appears to have blown over with the family on Wednesday treating the matter as a 8220;closed chapter8221; after Achuthanandan expressed 8220;regrets8221;.

Though the family declined to react directly to Achuthanandan, a close friend of the family said the family regretted 8220;certain developments8221; and treated the matter as closed.

8220;Absolutely, there is no problem whatsoever. The Unnikrishnan family also regrets certain developments that happened when the Chief Minister visited their house. Those things need not be taken any further. It is a closed chapter,8221; Krishnan, a close friend of the Unnikrishnan family, said.

Krishnan8217;s comments came after a close relative of Sandeep8217;s family earlier told PTI that 8220;we have learnt about the Chief Minister expressing regrets. But we don8217;t have comments on it8221;. Efforts to contact Sandeep8217;s father failed as his family members said 8220;he does not want to react8221;.
