An outpour of good wishes left the Indian cricket team overwhelmed as it prepared to emplane for the historic tour of Pakistan today. Inspirational messages and wishes from as many as 30,000 fans, collated over five days and scribbled on a huge greeting card was handed over to Indian captain Saurav Ganguly by vice-chairman of The Hindustan Times Shobana Bhartiya. The skipper was accompanied by his deputy Rahul Dravid and stylish batsman VVS Laxman.The unique card, spanning a whopping 22,500 square feet, is a result of HT’s ‘Ground Zero’ initiative and contains messages not only from fans from India but also places like Dubai, Karachi, London and New York. “We will try to do our best in Pakistan. It is good to see so much of enthusiasm from our fans. The tour of Pakistan is always special and we will try to give our best shot,” Ganguly said.
