2 girls quit SSC exam hall, commit suicide

The girls8217; parents reported them missing on Thursday night. Police later found two pairs of slippers and some books near the waterfall, and noticed Vaishali8217;s and Usha8217;s names on the books. The police team then located the bodies of the two girls at the bottom of the waterfall.

WOMAN BURGLAR: An unidentified woman posing as a shopper decamped with gold ornaments worth Rs 43,540 from Sangamnerkar Jewellers shop at Karve Road on Saturday evening.

The woman, aged between 45 to 50 years, entered the shop at around 6.30 pm and asked the employee to showsome select ornaments. When the employee was looking for them the woman suddenly decamped with earrings, a chain, bracelet and locket. The woman could not be found despite attempts by employees to nab her. The shop owner Subhash Sangamnerkar has lodged a complaint wit the Kothrud police.

PEDESTRIAN KILLED: In a hit-and-run case, an eighty-year-old person Tukaram More was killed when he was hit by some unidentified vehicle on Saturday morning. More was on his morning walk on Senapati Bapat Road. The mishap took place at around 7 am. The Chatuhshrungi police are investigating.
