Sky Force actor Nimrat Kaur seems to be a fan of home remedies. She recently introduced us to an effective skincare hack, which she swears by to beat the summer sun and tan.

“So, one of my favourite summer hacks for skin is milk and saffron. I was travelling in Kashmir, and I bought saffron there. They told me that this can be put in biryani, and you can put this in sweet dishes. But there is another wonderful use of this. In summer, you can put this in raw milk and apply it to your skin. There is nothing better than this to get rid of the tan and the damage from the sun,” Kaur said in an Instagram video, which she captioned: “Kesariya mera, hack hai piyaaa…” (referring to the Kesariya song from Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva).

She even demonstrated the hack for her fans and followers.

Ingredients

Chilled milk
Saffron strands

*In a small bowl, add chilled milk and put 4-5 saffron strands. Let it sit. Put a face mask inside to soak up the liquid.
*Apply the mask to your face. Sit with it for a while.

After removing the mask, she said, “Smells like kheer. Nice and moist. So nice and fresh. I feel like kheer.”

But is it an effective hack?

Ayush Aggarwal, founder of Rasayanam, called the combination “nature’s glow duo. “Saffron (Kesar) has been treasured for centuries in Ayurveda and traditional skincare rituals. When combined with milk, this golden spice becomes a powerful elixir for glowing, healthy skin,” said Aggarwal.

Adding that saffron and milk offer a natural, gentle way to revive tired, dull skin, he said: “With regular use and the right application, this age-old beauty remedy can truly help you glow from within.”

Its anti-inflammatory properties make it ideal for calming redness or irritation.

What to note?

*Always do a patch test before first use, especially if you have sensitive skin.
*Use pure saffron — not the synthetic coloured kind.
*Avoid leaving it on overnight unless mixed into a proper night cream formulation.
*Store saffron in a cool, dry place to maintain potency,.

Does it work for everyone?

While saffron and milk suit most skin types, results may vary:

*Dry to normal skin types may benefit the most due to the intense hydration and glow it offers.
*Oily or acne-prone skin should proceed cautiously, as raw milk can sometimes clog pores.
*For sensitive skin, dilute the mix a little more, or best would be to consult a dermatologist before regular use.
