As per mythology, the daughter of Daksh had to sacrifice her life and take birth again as Parvati. During the month of Shravan, also known as Shravan maas, she wanted to marry Lord Shiva, so she performed penance. It is said that Parvati's loyalty pleased Lord Shiva, so he fulfilled her wish. This year, the month of Sawan will begin on July 4, 2023, and end on August 31, 2023. It is the fifth month of the Hindu calendar. The worshipers observe a fast every Monday (Somwar).
