Karwa Chauth 2025 Moonrise Time Today: Check city-wise moonrise timings below.Karwa Chauth 2025 Moonrise Time Today: Karwa Chauth, a major festival celebrated largely in North India and by Hindus worldwide, has a special place in the hearts of married couples. Traditionally, this event involves married women fasting from sunrise until moonrise for their husbands’ health and longevity.
Also known as Karak Chaturthi, ‘Karwa’ or ‘Karak’ refers to the clay pot used to make water offerings to the moon, known as ‘Argha’, which is then given as Dan to a Brahmin or other eligible woman.
As we celebrate the festival today, millions of married women across India will observe the traditional day-long fast, eagerly awaiting the moonrise that signals the end of the fast.
Karwa Chauth falls on the fourth day of the Kartik month in the Hindu lunisolar calendar, and the sighting of the moon marks the end of the fast.
According to Drik Panchang, in 2025, Karwa Chauth is being marked for October 10, Friday, with the puja muhurat, or the auspicious time for performing rituals, spanning from 05:57 PM to 07:11 PM and the expected Krishna Dashami moonrise at 08:13 PM.
