Hina Khan has always been a family-oriented person. The Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai star recently took to her Instagram to pen a heartwarming note for her mother Ruksana Aslam Khan on her birthday. “From the days of my innocence, when you acted as my brave protector amidst a selfish world, to this present moment wherein roles have reversed and I find myself standing guard for you – life has truly come around, Mom,” wrote Hina, 35.

She continued, “You’ve been my rock, my guide, and my constant. Now, it’s my responsibility, my duty, and my honour to shield you from any harm…I earnestly pray, today and always, for a universe that showers you with endless blessings, love, peace, and good health…”

Hina also added, “To every child, there comes a time when you have to take charge and become the caregiver to your parents…And we all must do it as best as we can! Happy Birthday Maa…From us and Dad”.

Not long ago, she also spoke about being able to undertake Hajj and do Umrah.

“I just can’t believe this is happening…ok lemme tell you guys…When I left home I decided to perform three Umrah’s in one and a half days, which was practically and physically not possible…I misjudged and miscalculated, also I didn’t realise I should do Madina first and then Mecca to perform Umrah in the holy month of Ramadan…I did exactly the reverse (no complaints though) I really enjoyed my time and rozas in Madina Sharif..”

“But somewhere deep down I was not content, and a bit sad ki mera ek Umrah reh Gaya.. also I really wanted to perform Umrah in Ramadan especially when you are so close to Mecca sharif…but I decided it’s God’s will and I will achieve it next time.. shall come in the month of Ramadan next year for Umrah again.. Also, my flight back home was from Madina and I can’t make my mom travel back and forth since she’s wheelchair-bound…but I had no inclination that god had other plans…yet again this god’s sent Farishta ( bless bless bless you, you know who you are) convinced me and we decided to go back to Mecca just for a few hours to perform Umrah during Ramadan.. AB ISKO KHUDA KA BULAAWA NAA KAHUN TO KYA KAHUN…”

Expressing gratitude, Hina shared, “God is great and all-knowing.. pious intent and a humble will to seek can never be dismissed at the house of god. And to all those people who have been judging me left right and center under my religious posts…All I can say is, I am no saint but I truly believe in Neeyat, kindness, good karma, good deeds.. Baaki aap sab ko apne karma ka khud jawaab dena hai oopar. Spread love. Teesra Umrah Mukammal. Mashallah, Jazaakallah khair. Labbaik allahuma Labbaik..”
