Slight improvement in Karunakaran’s condition

Karunakaran was put on total ventilator support two days back.

The conditon of veteran Congress leader K Karunakaran slightly improved today and the doctors decided to partly ease the ventilator support.

A medical bulletin issued by Anathapuri Hospital,where the 93-year-old leader has been undergoing treatment in a critical state for the last five days,said the “there is a slight improvement” in the overall condition today.

It,however,said he continued to have respiratory trouble and the infections he had been suffering from remained to be fully controlled.

A former chief minister of Kerala,Karunakaran was admitted to the hospital on Friday last for fever and respiratory problems. Though he initially responded to medicines,his condition worsened since Monday.
