Signalling problems delay Delhi Metro

Metro commuters in Delhi had a tough time today as services were delayed on the busy Noida line.

Metro commuters in the national capital had a tough time today as services were delayed on the busy Noida line for sometime due to a problem in the signalling system.

Services were delayed at around 8:30 am after the signalling problem disrupted services between Dwarka and Rajouri Garden,leading to over-crowding on trains.

“The problem persisted only for a few minutes. Problems in signalling system was spotted at 8:29 am and it was rectified at 8:37 am,” a DMRC spokesman said,adding,this problem resulted in bunching of trains.

However,passengers claimed that the services were delayed till late in the morning and the trains were stopping at every station for more than the stipulated time.

As the problem occurred during the morning rush hours,there was over-crowding at platforms in busy metro stations like Rajiv Chowk,Laxmi Nagar and Akshardham.

Anuksha,a software professional,said she got stuck in a train for around 15 minutes and it took nearly two hours for her to reach Rajiv Chowk from Dwarka.
