Bus Rapid Transit System (BRT) in the capital will be given an award in Taiwan for 'hassle free and successful execution' of the corridor.

The Bus Rapid Transit System (BRT) in the capital will be given an award in Taiwan for ‘hassle free and successful execution’ of the corridor. At a Pan-Asian conference being held between March 7 and 11 in Taiwan’s Tainin city, the organisation has decided to confer the award to the Delhi Government.

Chief Secretary Rakesh Mehta and Delhi Integrated Multi-Model Transit System (DIMTS) Managing Director S N Sahay have reportedly left for Tainan to accept the award. The PTPI,a US-based private sector organisation promotes cultural understanding through exchange programmes.

Delhi’s BRT,has been at the receiving end of severe public backlash for traffic mismanagement and lack of road space for car users. The CAG reports released in February also criticised the Delhi Government for faulty execution and lack of planning.
