A protest too far

Gurdaspur District Congress Committee chief Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa,in his enthusiasm to train guns at Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde for not inviting Congress workers to accompany him on his tour of Attari,issued a press statement to media expressing anguish over the issue. Even before Shinde had reached Attari,however,the release had landed in the mail boxes of journos who were waiting at Attari. As the day progressed,more meat was added to the story after Amritsar (Urban) district Congress Committee president Jugal Kishore Sharma emailed a picture with Shinde even as Randhawa had included Sharma’s name in the joint press statement released by him on behalf of Congress leaders who were “miffed at Shinde for not being invited.”
