Bank Holiday in India 2025: Various cities of India have declared bank holidays this week in commemoration of Durga Puja, Navratri, and Gandhi Jayanti.

Overall, October 2025 comprises 21 official bank holidays, including religious and regional celebrations like Maha Ashtami, Dussehra, Durga Puja, Karwa Chauth, Diwali, in addition to the mandated weekly days off on the second Saturday and Sunday of every month

They are determined in accordance with the RBI calendar 2025, which is designated under the Negotiable Instruments Act and includes RTGS holidays as well as other regional and national holidays.

Today and tomorrow, October 3 (Friday) and October 4 (Saturday), are bank holidays in due to the celebrations of Durga Puja and Dasain.

Dasain, also referred to as Vijaya Dashami in Sanskrit, is a significant Hindu religious observance celebrated in Nepal, Sikkim, West Bengal, Assam, South India, and Sri Lanka.
