A woman was allegedly hanged to death by her in-laws at Tilaur village in Bihar’s Nawada district after she failed to arrange for a dowry demand of Rs 50,000,police sources said.
The deceased,identified as Pratima Devi,had a rope put around her neck allegedly by her in-laws and killed after she failed to arrange the dowry amount from her family,the sources said.
She was married to Vishwamitra only last month,they said,adding that the body has been sent for post-mortem.
A murder case for dowry has been lodged by the victim’s kins against five persons,including the husband,the sources said,adding all accused persons were absconding.
