Action taken in 3 booth capturing complaints in 2024 polls: EC

Action was taken in one complaint in Arunachal Pradesh during the simultaneous Lok Sabha and state assembly elections in the state, in which two people were arrested. A repoll was conducted and an FIR lodged at the Khenewa police station of East Kameng district, the reply said.

One person remained in judicial custody, while the case was still under investigation. The EC also took action in two complaints of booth capturing in Odisha, leading to the arrest of 12 persons and re-polls at two polling stations.

A total of 875 complaints were received in West Bengal, but the complaints were all disposed of as “no case was substantiated” as per the report of the local police and election officials. Similarly, all 47 complaints in Bihar were “found false on verification and were disposed of”, the reply said.
