“A gripping gangster thriller, exploring the classic, universal battle of good versus evil,” is how Ritesh Sidhwani introduced their upcoming web series Bambai Meri Jaan. The show boasts an impressive cast including Kay Kay Menon, Avinash Tiwary, Kritika Kamra, Nivedita Bhattacharya, and Amyra Dastur in pivotal roles. Bankrolled by Excel Media and Entertainment’s Ritesh, Kassim Jagmagia and Farhan Akhtar, it will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 14.

Farhan Akhtar recently dropped a sneak peek video introducing the series with the caption, “Time to crown the new king of Bambai! #BambaiMeriJaanOnPrime, new series, Sept 14.”

The show will revolve around the characters of a father and son duo, who represent two sides of the same coin. Set against the backdrop of post-independence Mumbai, it’s a tale that unravels the evolution of a young man named Dara Kadri (played by Tiwary). He finds himself torn between upholding his father’s law enforcement legacy (portrayed by Menon) and his own inevitable descent into the criminal underworld.

Sharing more details about the show, Ritesh Sidhwani said, “Set in the post-independence era, Bambai Meri Jaan chronicles the birth of the underworld in Mumbai set against the backdrop of a free nation. Viewers will witness a gripping gangster thriller, exploring the classic, universal battle of good versus evil. We are truly delighted to be working with Prime Video yet again to bring another thought-provoking series to our viewers around the world.”

Bambai Meri Jaan is created by Rensil D’Silva and Shujaat Saudagar and directed by Shujaat Saudagar.
