Samantha Ruth Prabhu to take one-year break from films to prioritize health, will get treatment for Myositis: rep
Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has decided to prioritize her health, and will take one-year break from film industry to focus on well-being and recovery.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu is set to take a one-year break from work to prioritize her health. Despite facing health issues over the past year, the 36-year-old remained dedicated to fulfilling her work commitments. Now, Samantha has decided to take a well-deserved hiatus to focus on her well-being and seek additional treatment for her autoimmune condition, Myositis.
Her publicist, Mahendra, confirmed the news to Indianexpress.com, stating, “It’s true that Samantha won’t be taking on any new projects for one year as she is all set to leave for the USA for the treatment of her autoimmune condition, Myositis. If her condition improves earlier than expected, she may return within six months. However, the planned duration of her break is one year. She is already making good progress in her recovery, and her doctors have advised her to take mandatory rest. Samantha will depart for the US in the fourth week of August (Aug. 20).”
In terms of her upcoming projects, Samantha has not signed on for any new ventures except for two: Citadel and Kushi. Citadel recently wrapped up its shooting, while Samantha is currently involved in the final schedule of Kushi in Rajahmundry. Kushi marks her second collaboration with director Shiva Nirvana after the successful film Majili and also serves as her first film alongside popular actor Vijay Deverakonda. The eagerly awaited film is scheduled for release in September.
