In recent times, producer Naga Vamsi is undoubtedly one of the most enterprising celebrities of Telugu cinema. If his responses to Boney Kapoor in a year-ender roundtable kept him in the headlines for a while, his comments on how there is no nepotism in Telugu cinema ensured he was in the spotlight for a few more days. Naga Vamsi‘s Sithara Entertainments recently bankrolled Mad Square, the sequel to the 2023 film, which starred Narne Nithiin, Ram Nithin, and Sangeeth Sobhan. Although the original opened to rave reviews, the second part had a mixed response from the critics and audiences alike.

In a media interaction after the release of Mad Square, Naga Vamsi spoke about a lot of things, including the responses to the film. When asked about the film’s negative reviews, Naga Vamsi reiterated his long-standing argument that reviews are just one person’s opinion. “You mustn’t consider reviews as a result of an election where a result means things are decided for everyone. In films, everyone can have their own individual opinion, and it is still valid,” said Naga Vamsi.

The filmmaker vehemently argued that if sections of the media actually disliked him or his films, then they could just go ahead and boycott his productions. “If you hate me that much, ban my films, don’t write about them, and don’t take advertisements from me. If you do that, I will then promote my film, and show how I can do the same without that support,” said Naga Vamsi.

Naga Vamsi’s Mad Square also faced allegations of box office numbers being inflated by the makers. Even in the press interaction, Naga Vamsi pointed out that the film has made Rs 70 crores gross, and is hoping Mad Square enters the Rs 100 crore club. But when asked about his responses to certain reports that the numbers were inflated, Naga Vamsi immediately said, “I am the producer of the film, and I get all the details from the distributors. If anyone has a doubt, feel free to contact me to get these details. Also, you also have to give me the proof of the inflation. Without any proof, how can you say such things.”
