Mirai box office collection day 3: Tejja Sajja’s film closes in on Rs 50 cr mark, makes more in opening weekend than his blockbuster Hanu Man
Mirai box office collection day 3: Teja Sajja's Telugu action fantasy gets a boost with its Hindi dubbed version, which is being distributed by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.

Mirai box office collection day 3 report: Karthik Gattamneni and Anil Anand’s pan-Indian action fantasy Mirai, starring Teja Sajja, has clocked in an impressive opening weekend. The film, which released across four languages — the native Telugu version, and the dubbed Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam versions, on Friday, September 12, is closing in on the Rs 50 crore mark after three days.
On Sunday (day 3), Mirai collected Rs 16.50 crore across all languages, which is a slight improvement on its Saturday (day 2) earnings of Rs 15 crore, a further spike from its opening day collection of Rs 13 crore on Friday. The Teja Sajja-starrer has now earned Rs 44.50 crore after three days at the domestic box office. Its fate on the first Monday will most likely decide its future course.
As per Sacnilk, the lion’s share of the domestic box office collection of Mirai belongs to the native Telugu version, which amassed Rs 11.15 crore and Rs 11.75 crore on Friday and Saturday respectively. It’s followed by the dubbed Hindi version, which collected Rs 1.65 crore and Rs 3 crore on the first two days respectively.
The Hindi dubbed version got a major push after Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions came onboard as the North India distributors of Mirai. Johar has previously backed Telugu blockbusters like SS Rajamouli’s action fantasy Baahubali and S Shankar’s 2018 sci-fi action thriller 2.0 along with duds like Puri Jagannadh’s 2022 action thriller Liger.
However, the other dubbed South Indian languages barely contributed much to Mirai’s pan-India collection. The Tamil version earned only Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh, the Kannada version collected only Rs 5 lakh and Rs 7 lakh, and the Malayalam version garnered just Rs 5 lakh and Rs 3 lakh on Friday and Saturday respectively. The language-wise distribution of the film on Sunday hasn’t been ascertained yet.
When compared to Teja Sajja’s breakout film last year, Prasanth Varma’s superhero movie Hanu Man, Mirai has performed better in its first three days at the domestic box office. Hanu Man earned Rs 29.55 in its first three days. However, since the film released on a Thursday, its extended opening weekend till that Sunday adds up to Rs 48.45 crore. Hanuman went on to amass Rs 227.5 crore after its month-long run at the India box office.
As of Sunday, Mirai has the momentum going for it to match up to Hanu Man. However, starting this Friday, it’ll face major competition, at least in the Hindi market, from Subhash Kapoor’s courtroom comedy Jolly LLB 3, starring Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, and Anurag Kashyap’s potboiler Nishaanchi, marking the acting debut of Aishwarya Thackeray, the grandson of late Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray.
Mirai revolves around Teja Sajja’s character, a warrior tasked with the protection of nine sacred scriptures that can turn any mortal into a deity. It’s co-written by Gattamneni and Manibabu Karanam, and also stars Ritika Nayak and Manoj Kumar Manchu. Sajja will also reprise his character of Hanumanthu in Varma’s sequel Jai Hanuman, also starring Rishab Shetty, slated to release in cinemas on October 2.
