There has been no major development in the case of the missing Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Gurucharan Singh, who played the role of Roshan Singh Sodhi on the show. He has been missing since April 22. He was supposed to catch a flight from Delhi to Mumbai, but that never happened, and neither did Gurucharan return home. His location was last traced to Delhi, but his phone has been switched off ever since. Now, in an exclusive conversation with producer JD Majethia, Indianexpress.com has learned that CINTAA’s Amit Behl has also been informed about the matter.
When we asked JD Majethia if there was any update about the case, he shared, “Not much, there is no idea about where he has gone or what has happened to him yet. We have to wait and watch. I am not very involved in the case. He was not acting in my show, I learnt it from another actress, Soni, who used to work in my show many years ago. So, I thought I should inform the channel, media, and the TMKOC team. Out of my nature and character, I just spread the word the word to help them. I am not in touch with his family either. I informed CINTAA and Amit Behl, but personally, I am not too involved in the matter.”
Recently, Tarak Mehta producer Asit Kumar Modi also reacted to the news, and praised Gurucharan. He also commented on whether his dues had been cleared. Speaking to Times Now, Asit called the news painful and shocking, and said that Gurucharan Singh was a god-fearing and responsible family man. The producer also shared that Gurucharan always met him with a smile.
Reacting to reports of Gurucharan Singh not receiving his dues, Asit refuted the rumours. Earlier, Gurucharan’s co-star Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal had told Telly Talk India that his dues from Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah had been cleared.
Indianexpress.com had also spoken with Gurucharan’s on-screen son, Samay Shah. He expressed shock over Gurucharan Singh’s disappearance, and said, “Whenever we spoke, he was very kind and sweet, he was keeping alright, and he would continuously check on me. I was like a son to him. Samay also stated that when they last spoke he seemed very happy and even motivated Gogi about dealing with life. Contrary to reports of financial strain, Samay shared that Gurucharan was working on his Punjabi film and was also making an app.”
