Amitabh Bachchan in splits as contestant’s wife calls him her ‘sautan’, reveals his dad said Lata Mangeshkar’s voice is like ‘honey’

“Amazing artiste. I’m not sure whether the current generation has listened to this song or not. Lata ji sang it beautifully. The moment the song starts, you know it’s Lata ji. I once asked my father what he loved about her the most. My father said, ‘Her voice is like flowing honey’. Honey flows in one continuous line,” Bachchan said.

He also went on to recall how he had complimented her in a unique way once, “One time, I had to talk about her, on one of the shows, and I said, ‘Our neighbouring countries, often say this when praising us, our country has everything you do, barring two things, the Taj Mahal and Lata Mangeshkar.”

The next contestant on the hot seat was an Amitabh Bachchan fan and his wife also shared some interesting anecdotes about his love for the superstar. The contestant first stumped the host by sharing how the star’s initials are his blood group (AB) and that he loves him more than anyone else. His wife, who was accompanying him went on to claim that Big B is her ‘sautan’.

She said, “Sir, you are my sautan. Whenever I have a fight with him, I think he will calm me down. Instead, he gets lost in your thoughts and keeps creating study models. Whenever you post anything on social media, he makes sure to like it first. He also comments ‘Love you, AB Sir’ with many heart-shaped emojis but you never reply to him. However, he gets replies from others saying, ‘Love you too’. I block them and then lock the profile.”

Visibly touched yet embarrassed, Amitabh Bachchan promised the contestant that he would reply to his comment the next time.
